About Women in Power:

Women in Power Inc was founded by four incredible women that came together to help each other within their industry and found that not only could they help each other but they all had a passion to help other women as well. These women decided to create a Not-For-Profit association whose mission is to promote and empower women

Women in Power is:

  • Is a Not-For-Profit organisation formed in 2015 whose mission is to promote and empower women
  • Provides a forum for its members to meet and exchange information, ideas and solutions
  • Offers individual members an opportunity to expand personal and business networks, maintain awareness of industry developments, improve skills and knowledge, and make a contribution to other women in the industry.

Women in Power’s Objectives are:

  • To unite women actively involved in all industries for their mutual benefit
  • To promote co-operation, fellowship and a better understanding among members of Women in Power
  • To promote education and contribute to the betterment of industry
  • To encourage women to pursue and establish careers in male-dominated industries
  • To provide members with an awareness of issues relating to industry.

Penelope Twemlow
– Chairwomen

Penelope is a multi-degree qualified professional with 16 years’ experience in strategic and operational management, project and risk management, and governance and compliance. Penelope also demonstrates people management, organisational culture and communications skills across a wide demographic and range of disciplines.

Tammy Stanton
– Treasurer

Tammy is a multi-degree holder with IT project management experience for large corporations both national and international. She was able to transfer her extensive corporate business experience to enable growth of her electrical company, Platinum Electricians Morningside which she partners with her husband. This has seen the business go from a sole trader company to now employ 13 tradesman and 4 apprentices and has completed award winning projects across all sectors of the industry.

Brooke Macgregor
– Secretary

When Brooke MacGregor used to head out as a child with her Dad, servicing stand-by generators for rural hospitals and supermarkets in Queensland, she could never have anticipated that she’d one day be running the show. Her parents instilled in her a belief that she could do anything regardless of her gender so in 2008 Brooke purchased Genergy Australia from her parents and now sits at the helm as Managing Director of a 20-yo business that has grown into a significant entity in the Queensland Emergency Power Sector
