Brooke Macgregor – Secretary

When Brooke MacGregor used to head out as a child with her Dad, servicing stand-by generators for rural hospitals and supermarkets in Queensland, she could never have anticipated that she’d one day be running the show. Her parents instilled in her a belief that she could do anything regardless of her gender so in 2008 Brooke purchased Genergy Australia from her parents and now sits at the helm as Managing Director of a 20-yo business that has grown into a significant entity in the Queensland Emergency Power Sector.

Brooke MacGregor draws from her Bachelor of Business (QUT) and Masters of Professional Accounting (QUT) to run a successful company that focuses on operational efficiencies while offering exceptional customer service through the use of new field technologies.

Brooke has used her position as a successful female owner of a company operating in the construction industry to help women enter and carve out fulfilling careers in this sector. Brooke MacGregor is the Secretary of Women in Power Inc, is on the Women in Contracting Committee run by the Master Electricians Association, and is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Throughout her career Brooke has won several industry awards including the Master Electricians Australia (MEA) Women in Contracting South East Queensland Excellence Award 2015, the MEA Women in Contracting National Excellence Award 2015, and was the joint winner for the NAWIC Award for Achievement as a Business Woman QLD 2016. Brooke believes it is imperative that young girls see that females are completing their electrical trades or degrees and are operating successful electrical companies so they will understand that they too are capable, and it is possible.

Brooke is also the Treasurer of the Vietnam Veterans Mine Clearing Team Cambodia Inc (VVMCT). The VVMCT is an Australian based organisation supporting the work of the Cambodian Self Help Demining NGO (CSHD).

Since the purchase of the Company in 2008 Brooke has also become a mother to two beautiful boys and found the reality of balancing the needs of Genergy Australia with the needs of two young children extremely challenging. Her great organisational skills, resilience, and extensive support of her family have allowed her career and motherhood to co-exist.
